Today, July 1, marks the beginning of our annual Safe Environment renewal period. It is essential that all Saint Timothy volunteers renew their Safe Environment Training no later than September 30, 2025.
Who needs to take the Safe Environment Training?
Anyone who serves in a volunteer capacity at St. Timothy, regardless of whether or not the way you serve at the parish interacts with minors or vulnerable adults.
If you have never taken the foundation course, you can follow the link to set up your account and begin that online process.
If you simply need to renew, please follow the steps below. The renewal takes around 30 minutes or less.
STEP 1
Visit the Catholic Mutual Group Website: https://phoenix.cmgconnect.org/
STEP 2
Once at the website, sign in through the Existing Accounts option, if you are renewing. If you have never taken Safe Environment Training, you will need to Register for a New Account.
STEP 3
After you sign in, on your dashboard, you will see a series of videos under "Required Trainings".
Look for ONLINE RENEWAL "2025-2026 SET Year" and click the green “Start” button. You only need to complete the RENEWAL.
ONLINE FOUNDATION, may appear next to the renewal, but if you completed the foundation class or went through the renewal process between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025, you only need to take the RENEWAL course.
For brand new volunteers, or for previously certified volunteers who did not complete their renewal in the 2024-2025 year, you will need to complete the ONLINE FOUNDATION.
Once you select the start button, you will be prompted through each step of the module.
STEP 4
Background check. If your background check expired in the past year OR it will expire in this coming year (by June 30, 2026) you also need to complete the background check renewal. To do so, return to the Dashboard by using the navigation menu on the left or the prompt at the top of the screen.
On the dashboard, you can review your background check status. The profile selected for this example does not need to renew because it expires in 2030. If your background check status has expired or will expire before July 1, 2026, it is necessary to complete the background check renewal module.

Once these are complete, you are good to go for the year!
Did you forget your CMG account username or password?
Still select the Sign In option under Existing Accounts.
Then choose the Forgot Username or Forgot Password options.
An email will be sent to the email address you used when you completed your foundation course. Keep an eye on your spam, junk, or clutter folders if you do not see it in your inbox.
