An Update on Catechesis of the Good Shepherd from Father Frankie
Please watch the message below from Father Frankie, where he shares about our CGS program, the challenges we are facing, and how he desires us to combat those challenges as a parish:
Please join Father Frankie and the Catechesis of Good Shepherd staff for forty days of intercession for God’s will and provision to be perfectly done. There will be a Holy Hour for six Fridays from 3:00- 4:00 pm in our Adoration Chapel, beginning on January 24th (this is the same day as our feast day celebration. The parking lot will not be open for parking, so please plan to park on the street or Dobson High School). The Holy Hours will be on the following Fridays:
- January 31st
- February 7th
- February 14th
- February 21st
- February 28th
These forty days of intercession will end on the first day of Lent, Wednesday, March 5th. On the days in between each Holy Hour, or if you cannot attend the scheduled Holy Hours, we would ask that you continue to intercede, whether it be a Rosay, Divine Mercy Chaplet, time in Adoration, or another way of fasting or prayer.

St. Timothy Feast Day Weekend
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - See info below
The feast day of our patron, St. Timothy, is coming up at the end of the month! We will celebrate on Friday, January 24 with our annual feast day celebration in our parking lot. The event will feature a Corn Hole Tournament which was a huge success last year! The Knights of Columbus will be grilling hot dogs and all are welcome to enjoy the food trucks, beer garden, cake walk, crafts, inflatables, s'mores, and more!
As part of our celebration, we will have a Eucharistic Procession through Dobson Ranch on the afternoon of Saturday, January 25 at 3:30pm. We'll start at the church and return for some time of adoration prior to the 5pm Vigil Mass.
Invite your family and friends. We're looking forward to celebrating with the whole parish!
Would you like to help with our Feast Day?
We could use some assistance with the following:
Setup on Friday morning: includes setting up tables, chairs, trash cans, signage, equipment, etc.
During the event: we have numerous activity and concessions stations that require staffing. We'd also love to have greeters at our entrances to welcome guests and provide direction as needed.
After the event: Clean up! Emptying trash cans, breaking down tables & chairs, moving equipment back inside.

We are in need of donations for our cake walk activity! If you love to bake or would like to purchase some baked goodies, we will begin receiving donations on January 21st. If you can, please let Lisa know that you plan to donate—though it’s not required. Please drop off your goodies at the front office.

Catholic Vocab: Paschal
You may have heard the phrase “paschal mystery” or “paschal lamb”, but what does the word “paschal” mean. The word comes from the Latin “paschalis” which in turn comes from the Hebrew “Pesaḥ” which means “Passover.” The Passover was the sacred meal the Israelites held on the eve of their liberation from slavery in Egypt. God commanded them to slaughter a lamb and place the blood of the lamb on their door posts so the angel of death would passover their house. We, like the Israelites, just celebrated our Passover; the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, was sacrificed to free us from slavery to sin. “Pascha” is the Latin word for Easter. This is also true in Spanish (Pascua) and Italian (Pasqua). The whole Easter Triduum from Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday is the Passover (Pascha) of the Lord.

Parking Lot Notice
You may have noticed our signs prohibiting the use of our parking lot for Dobson High drop off and pick up. This is to prevent congestion and traffic hazards in our parking lot as well as to head off loitering from unsupervised minors on our property. If you visit the church during the daytime hours Monday-Friday, it is best to use the parking lot entrance on Keating (north side of parking lot). The Guadalupe and Pennington driveways will be blocked off. We thank you for your patience.
